Siebenwurst expands to America
Dear Sir / Madam,
Siebenwurst becomes even more international: Starting this September, a new Siebenwurst subsidiary will be taking care of German companies in the Americas. Our new company, based on the successful operations of Siebenwurst China Ltd. in Asia, will enable us to meet the demands of our business partners who plan on increasing their activities in the American markets in the coming years.
New subsidiary in Mexico supports German OEMs and suppliers in the North America region
Christian Walter accompanies Foreign Minister Steinmeier on delegation as representative of German SMEs
Siebenwurst established a new subsidiary in September 2014 in Querétaro, Mexico to provide future support to German companies in the North America region. The Bavarian system supplier and localization specialist for the automotive industry is further strengthening its international presence with this step. Prior to this, Christian Walter, a Siebenwurst board member, accepted an invitation from Dr. Frank Walter Steinmeier, the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, to act as a representative of German SMEs as part of a delegation to Mexico. The trip was organized on the occasion of the signing of a new investment agreement for the new BMW plant in San Luis Potosi.
Over the past few years, Christian Karl Siebenwurst Modell- und Formenbau GmbH & Co. KG of Dietfurt, Germany (Upper Palatinate) has made a name for itself internationally as a localization specialist for the automotive industry in the fields of product development, tool tracking, consulting, service and temp work. The new subsidiary in Querétaro is responsible for the North America region and is structured after Siebenwurst China Ltd, whose 35 employees have been supporting German OEMs and suppliers since 2011 as project managers, quality managers, design engineers and toolmakers with new model launches in new target markets.
Mexico was chosen since the German automotive industry is planning to significantly expand capacities in this region in the coming years. Siebenwurst’s key accounts will include German OEMs such as Audi, Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler, as well as their suppliers. The founding of this new company in the Americas coincides with BMW’s decision to open up a new plant in Mexico: Ludwig Willisch, CEO BMW North America, and representatives of the Mexican government signed the purchase agreement for a new plant site in San Luis Potosi with a total investment of one billion dollars. The signing of the agreement was one of the main items on the agenda of the delegation trip Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and various representatives took from July 17–20, 2014 to Mexico City and Guanajuato, which also included discussions with the Mexican President Pena Nieto and Foreign Minister Jose Meade.
